Cat-back exhaust systems for the Subaru WRX and STI, BRZ and Toyota 86/GR86 and the Honda Civic Si, from AWE, MAPerformance, Remark and Tomei. We carry 9; each listing names the years, and where it matters the body style, it fits.
What is a cat-back exhaust?
A cat-back exhaust replaces everything behind the catalytic converter: the mid-pipe, resonators, mufflers and tips. The catalytic converter and the parts ahead of it stay as they are, which is why a cat-back is the most common first exhaust upgrade. The change you notice most is sound; some makers also publish measured power gains for their system, as AWE does for its WRX and STI Track Edition.
An axle-back is shorter: it replaces only the section behind the rear axle, usually the mufflers and tips. A cat-back changes more of the system, so it has more effect on tone and flow. More in axle-back vs cat-back exhaust.

Before you order
- Year and body style: sedan and hatchback, or coupe and sedan, often use different exhausts. The MAPerformance Civic Si systems, for example, are separate coupe and sedan parts.
- Sound level: AWE sells a Touring Edition with rear drone-canceling resonators and a louder Track Edition without them; the listings describe the difference.
- Material and tips: check each listing for the tubing material, tip size and finish; the Tomei Expreme Ti is titanium.
- Local rules: check your state’s exhaust noise rules before installing a louder system.
