How a centrifugal supercharger works
A centrifugal supercharger is a belt-driven compressor mounted at the front of the engine. Its impeller spins far faster than the crankshaft and pushes compressed air into the intake, usually through an intercooler that cools the charge. Boost builds with engine speed, so power delivery stays close to stock at low rpm and rises strongly toward redline.
