D&J Precision Machine's Essential short block is a fully remanufactured bottom end for the 2003-2007 Ram 5.9L Cummins. It brings back compression, oil control and structural integrity without the gamble of a high-mileage core or salvage engine. D&J builds it for trucks used for towing, work or daily driving, whether they stay stock or get more power later.

Build details

• Process: Torn down, inspected and CNC blueprinted to restore critical tolerances to OEM specification
• Block machining: Bored, honed and decked
• Inspection: Checked for cracks, straightness and wear
• Rotating parts: Crankshaft, rods and pistons measured and corrected for proper clearances
• Verified clearances: Piston-to-wall and bearing tolerances checked before assembly
• New parts: New internal components such as pistons, bearings and gaskets
