IAG 800 Series FA20 (12.5:1 Compression Ratio) Closed Deck Short Block 13-21 BRZ / FRS / GT86

This IAG 800 Series closed deck FA20 short block is for 2013-2021 Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S and Toyota GT86 builds. It carries 12.5:1 pistons, which IAG recommends for low-boost or stock applications. The closed deck, forged rods and improved head gasket sealing support higher cylinder pressure than the factory block.

Build details

• Case halves: Brand new OEM Subaru FA20, machined for better oil flow; internal passages inspected and optimized
• Closed deck: IAG Closed Deck Inserts that keep the coolant passages open while making the block a solid deck
• Head sealing: O-ring grooves plus drilled and tapped holes for 1/2" head studs
• Bore: 86.1mm, honed on a Sunnen SV-30
• Pistons: IAG-Spec JE FSR 86.1mm forged, 2618 T6 alloy, asymmetrical skirts, ring set; wrist pins .905 x 2.250 x .210 in. with Tru Arc locks
• Compression ratio: 12.5:1 on standard gasket thickness
• Connecting rods: IAG-Spec H-Beam with ARP2000 rod bolts
• Bearings: ACL or King XPG rod bearings; OEM or King XPG main bearings
• Crankshaft: New Subaru FA20 (2020)
• Hardware: Standard Subaru case bolts with OEM sealant; OEM oil plug pre-installed at the oil pan location

Listed for 2013-2021 BRZ, FR-S and GT86 with the FA20. Head studs are sold separately. Choose this 12.5:1 version for stock or low-boost setups; the 10.5:1 version is the one IAG intends for larger turbos. Send us your VIN or engine code and we will confirm fitment before you order.
