IAG Performance's 950 Series 2.35L destroked short block is a closed deck EJ25 for the 2002-2014 WRX, 2004-2021 STI, 2004-2013 Forester XT and 2005-2009 Legacy GT. IAG rates it for up to 950 BHP while staying usable on the street. The shorter stroke lets it rev to 8,500 RPM, which suits road racing, rally and drag use.

Build details

• Case halves: Brand new Subaru 2.5L, CNC machined in-house for IAG's closed deck inserts
• Bore: 99.75mm, bored and honed with torque plates
• Crankshaft: Subaru 2.0L FHI (destroked to 2.35L)
• Connecting rods: Custom IAG-Spec +2mm H-Beam forged with ARP 625+ rod bolts
• Pistons: JE 99.75mm FSR 2618 custom, electroless nickel plated, .240" H13 tool steel wrist pins, JE Pro Seal ring set
• Bearings: ACL race rod and main bearings
• Head sealing: Machined for the IAG Fire-Lock head gasket system, which separates combustion sealing from oil and coolant sealing
• Head studs: Case machined for 14mm studs
• Assembly: Balanced, blueprinted and hand-assembled; standard FHI Subaru case bolts
• Why destroked: Lower piston speed, a better rod-to-stroke ratio and longer piston dwell at top dead center

Before you order

This block needs IAG Fire-Lock .051" head gaskets with the IAG-Spec Alloy Ring Set (PN IAG-ENG-1741), and the 14mm head studs are sold separately. With Fire-Lock gaskets, compression works out to 9.2:1 on D heads (EJ255) and 8.8:1 on B, V and W EJ257 heads. Send us your VIN or engine code and we will confirm fitment before you order.
