12-volt bow-mount trolling motors run on one 12-volt deep-cycle battery. We carry 5 12V models (55 lb of thrust).
A 12-volt system is the simplest setup: one battery, one charger bank and the least weight, which suits smaller and lighter boats such as jon boats, small aluminum fishing boats and kayaks with a bow mount. If you fish in wind or current, or need long run times, a 24-volt motor gives more thrust and endurance.
