Reading the model code

MFS20EL identifies this exact configuration. The shaft letter (S = 15", L = 20", X/XL/UL = 25") is the most important thing to match to your transom. Compare it with the code on your current motor's ID plate, usually on the transom bracket.

Before you order

Measure your transom height to confirm the shaft length. Our outboard shaft length guide shows how. Compare every 20 HP option on the 20 HP outboards page, or see all Tohatsu outboards.
